Tax Return Professional

Summary:

Responsible for individual income tax preparation in a professional environment. This includes the ability to interview clients, prepare an accurate and complete return in accordance to the rules and regulations of federal and state laws. This is a temporary position from mid-January through mid-April. Full and part time hours; days, evenings and Saturdays are available.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interview clients with authority and confidence in an efficient and timely manner.
  • General to advanced comprehension of computer software for tax preparation, office administration and client communications.
  • Consult tax law reference guides, software and IRS code for problem solving.
  • Flexible to administrative procedures and new law guidelines.
  • Review financial records such as income statements and documentation of expenditures.
  • Advise clients regarding the potential to lower current and future tax liabilities.
  • General understanding of S-Corps, Partnerships, Estates and Trusts as it relates, affects and passes through to the individual tax return.
  • Foresee and recommend the need for additional products and services
  • Basic knowledge of office flow regarding tax return preparation for assisting in problem resolution.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma
  • 3-5 years of tax preparation experience

Tax Return Assistant

Summary:

This position is responsible for initiating the preparation of individual and business tax returns. This includes the ability to prepare and/or review tax returns in accordance to the rules and regulations of federal and state laws. This position is not required to meet directly with clients. This is a temporary position from mid-January through mid-April. Full and part time hours; days, evenings and Saturdays are available.

Receptionist

Summary:

Responsible for handling front office reception and administration duties in a high energy environment. This includes greeting clients, answering phones, handling company inquiries, scheduling appointments and providing the client paperwork with the ability to prioritize simultaneous demands. This is a temporary position from mid-January through mid-April. Full and part time daytime hours are available. Some Saturdays may be required.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Greet clients in a professional manner.
  • Organize and disperse paperwork and/or files necessary for appointment arrivals.
  • Maintain preparer interaction and notification of client arrival, conflicts, and high priority schedule changes.
  • Maintain security of confidential information.
  • Operate office computer technology and phone systems.
  • Basic knowledge of office flow regarding tax return preparation.
  • Present tax returns for signature.
  • Perform basic bookkeeping, filing and clerical duties and responsibilities.
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing mail for the office.
  • Acknowledge the need for assistance in all aspects of the front office when necessary.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma
  • Administrative or related experience
